CCFF Start Community Engagement

Cornwall Community Flood Forum have now started community engagement with the first six communities identified as gaining the most benefit from maximising resilience to, and protection from, increasing storm events and coastal flooding.  The sessions will enable us to support communities to produce CRABs (Community Resilience Action Briefs) identifying priorities and how we can use low impact, nature-based solutions to build resilience.  We will also support communities to produce CAPs (Coastal Adaptation Plans) looking at how we can take action to adapt to change by moving infrastructure such as car parks, roads and at-risk buildings to provide for a more sustainable future.

The first group of engagement sessions have been held in Mawgan Porth, Polzeath and Widemouth. The sessions were well received and there was lively discussion at all the events.  The second set of sessions for these locations have begun starting with Mawgan Porth on 13th April with Polzeath on 20th and Widemouth on 23rd.  Going forward we will start engagement with Porthtowan and Praa Sands in May. For details about the sessions and who to contact to join in please go to the Community Engagement page on our website Community Engagement – Making Space for Sand.
