Widemouth Volunteer Christmas Tree Planting

MS4S supported Widemouth Task force and Cormac on Saturday the 6th January to put used Christmas trees in Widemouth dunes. The trees will act as a natural windbreak, trapping sand and creating a more favourable environment where dune plants can establish themselves to bind the sediment together. The event was led and organised by Widemouth Task Force and an estimated 250 trees were brought to the site by the wider community.  This provided an ideal opportunity for the community to learn about the importance of the dunes for wildlife and as a natural coastal defence.  Thank you to everyone who attended this event your support is much appreciated.
